A recent article from Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism shared that Hawaiian tourism had a strong October 2024, welcoming 774,617 visitors—a 5.4% increase compared to October 2023—and generating $1.58 billion in spending, up 6.2%. Visitor numbers were nearly back to pre-pandemic levels. Although study shows visitors stayed slightly shorter at an average of 8.33 days, their daily spending increased, contributing to gains compared to last year and 2019. On Hawaii Island, 132,392 visitors arrived, and spending increased 48.8% above October 2019, highlighting our island’s growing appeal and travelers are spending more.
